Adapt and thrive
Stay ahead of the storm with Stellar Futures: leveraging climate intelligence for smarter disaster preparedness where every second counts, elevating real-time alerts for coastal emergencies.
ABOUT US
At Stellar Futures, we believe in building technology solutions that pave the way to a better climate-aware future.
WHO WE ARE
Stellar Futures was born out of a passion for innovation and a drive to craft technologies that positively impact our communities. Nestled in the serene beauty of Blue Rocks, Nova Scotia, our journey began with a desire to address two of the most pressing challenges of our time: climate change and emergency management.
WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
The unprecedented flooding and wildfires that affected Nova Scotia in 2023 served as harbingers of this new reality wrought by our changing climate. They also revealed the need to develop a new set of tools for our communities and those responsible for protecting them during these crises.
THE FUTURE
Our founder, Gary Stairs, was well-positioned to envision these tools. With decades of experience as a leader in technology in the Maritimes, preceded by extensive experience in emergency management, he could clearly see both the contours of the problems and their potential solutions.
Adapting to tomorrow's climate, preparing for today's emergencies.
WHAT WE DO
HELP
We address fundamental gaps in Canada between disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.

INTEGRATE
We integrate and deploy cutting-edge technologies to protect coastal communities and achieve disaster resilience.

BELIEVE
We embrace climate foresight, disaster prediction, and proactive early warnings for a stronger, more resilient future. Stellar commits to the United Nations’ Early Warnings for All initiative.
TESTIMONIALS
Congratulations, Stellar, on the progress of your ‘Digital Triplet’ prototype for forecasting and warning services for rural and coastal areas during environmental emergencies, improving disaster resilience and day-to-day notifications. As we continue to face the challenges and impacts of more frequent environmental weather events, it is solutions like StellarAlerts.AI that will help with our climate adaptation and emergency response and ensure the safety of coastal Maritimers.

We are so excited to meet you and to help pioneer this new StellarAlerts.AI tech to serve the big climate change adaptation players and put Stellar Futures on the main stage! I also thought it’d be nice for you to know that we had an internal Canada-wide AWS meeting today in which I chose to speak about Stellar and our hopes to partner and protect the people in rural Canadian towns from floods, fires, etc. The broader AWS team thought it was a great story and are rooting for us on a macro scale.

I noticed that conversations were going on between Gary and the audience in the Climate and Innovation Technical Theater at our Canadian Emergency Preparedness and Climate Adaptation Convention in Ottawa on 26 September 2024. That was amazing. His presentation brought such value to the delegates. We are looking forward to meeting Gary in CEPCA next year for sure!
